About

With over twenty years’ experience and expertise in trauma and mental health in urban and rural environments, Patricia Cobb Richardson, MS, assists transition-age youth who have been exposed to the chronic stresses of community violence, adverse childhood experiences, toxic stress, poverty, racism, and mass incarceration.

As an engaged partner and advocate, Patricia brings evidence-based, culturally relevant, and systems-level approaches to her work supporting young adults. She recognizes them as resilient stakeholders who are best able to design and implement strategies for their own sustainable long-term wellness and a more hopeful future for their communities.

In recent years, Patricia’s collaborative work with community groups, grassroots organizations, and local governments has included a special emphasis on facilitating greater understanding of the enduring consequences of Adverse and Positive Childhood Experiences. This understanding along with recognizing the wisdom and value of partnering with youth to be codesigners of services that they seek, she utilizes a strength-based resilience framework developed by her called “Circles of Connection and Resilience”.  to transform painful histories into opportunities for growth and accomplishment.
